so you're ending scxhost.exe's? They start backup within a second don't they.

Next time refer to google with the app name (svchost.exe) and it will get you (1st link) an applist response detailing you waht the app is and what the danger level of running it or stopping it.

Also if you're gonna start end processes that they say you shouldn't before you ask questions, you might as well delete your system32 folder out of curiosity and then come ask us what it does.

lol

Silent, wth is 6to4? You should google all of those processes, and download Process Explorer, in order to see which each of those subprocesses is doing.

Using Process Explorer in Vista or XP

You can use the excellent Process Explorer utility from Microsoft/Sysinternals to see what services are running as a part of a svchost.exe process.

Hovering your mouse over one of the processes will show you a popup list of all the services:

Or you can double-click on a svchost.exe instance and select the Services tab, where you can choose to stop one of the services if you choose.

Notice the stop button? Well, you should use this in order to kill the processes, unless you have Vista (I don't), then there's a Vista feature you can use, but you'll have to research that for yourself.

Also, you'll notice when they click on the subprocess strings, there's a brief description of what each one does, as you highlight them.

Good luck.

Im not a child running around in a helmet, I know and understand what an svchost.exe is, i've been using a windows machine for the better part of my life. All I want to confirm is how I was in the wrong by pointing out that that specific svxhost.exe he pointed out was most likely in "charge" of network processes. (i.e. windows networking exe's aka .dll's
