I love how with the Hope trailer, everyone's like "omg she goku'd his ass" or something.
The canon reason behind that, she used the force to counter the energy from the lightsaber, which takes a lot of fucking skill and willpower to maintain. If that trooper didn't tackle that dude she would've ate it, badly.
Of course people who are fanboys and don't like anything new being put into their universe are going "OMG THAT CAN'T HAPPEN RANT RANT BALHRJGHS".
All it really was was a force push. They're just trying to give it a visual effect opposed to just "Hey, I thrust my hand and shit happens."
Regardless if the in game gameplay looks dated, they're making it run on a wide range just like WoW did.
